The Criterion Theatre is currently recruiting for Front of House assistants to join our existing, outstanding team for our run of ‘The Comedy About A Bank Robbery’. We are looking for enthusiastic, confident and positive individuals who have a passion for providing excellent customer service.
Our current performance schedule is listed below. This position is for an 8 show per week contract which will begin on Tuesday 19th November 2019 for the duration of the run of ‘The Comedy About A Bank Robbery’. The production is currently booking until November 2020.
You must be available to work all performances per week, each week.
There is an amended schedule for Christmas and New Year weeks and there are performances on Boxing Day, which are part of you contract, therefore, you must be available to work for us to consider your application. It will not be possible to book holiday for the Christmas week performances.
Staff rotate around bar and general front of house shifts. Bar shifts start 1.25 hours prior to performance and all other shifts start 1 hour prior to performance.
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays:
7.30pm show (6.15pm or 6.30pm start of shift, approximate end of shift 10.15pm)
2.30pm show & 7.30pm show (1.15pm or 1.30pm start of shift, approximate end of shift 5.15pm, 6.15pm or 6.30pm start of second shift, approximate end of shift 10.15pm)
3.00pm show 7.00pm show (1.45pm or 2pm start of shift, approximate end of shift 5.30pm, 6pm start of second shift approximate end 9.45pm)
Christmas & New Year contracted schedule
Tuesday 24th December: 2.30pm show
Wednesday 25th December: CLOSED
Thursday 26th December: 2.30pm & 7.30pm shows
Friday 27th December: 7.30pm show
Saturday 28th December: 2.30pm & 7.30pm shows
Sunday 29th December: 3pm & 7pm shows
Monday 30th December: CLOSED
Tuesday 31st December: 2.30pm & 7.30pm shows
Wednesday 1st January: CLOSED
Thursday 2nd January: 2.30pm & 7.30pm shows
Friday 3rd January: 7.30pm show
Saturday 4th January: 2.30pm & 7.30pm shows
Sunday 5th January: 3pm & 7pm shows
Returns to usual schedule from this point.

You should have customer service experience and excellent communication skills. Previous front of house experience is not essential but would be desirable.
The Criterion Theatre Trust is a London Living Wage employer, the pay rate is £10.55 per hour.
Shifts on Tuesdays – Saturdays are paid at 3.75 minimum call, shifts on Sundays are paid at 4.5 hours minimum call.
